Recap of Documentary Project

Image
After finishing the documentary project, I feel a lot better about the final draft that I submitted than my first copy. I learned a lot about the writing style through the draft and how to improve my writing. I liked the documentary I chose to watch Dark Days thought it was very interesting. I'm glad I enjoyed the documentary it made writing about it a lot easier and enjoyable to write.  Throughout the paper, I had a few different aspects of my paper that I struggled with that needed improvement. One of the struggles I encountered while writing my documentary project was the analysis. When I did my first draft I did not have an analysis so I had to add that. I also struggled with my setup phrases at first throughout the paper so I had to figure out where to add those throughout the paper. Also, the format I didn't have was correct but I was able to work on that before submitting my final draft. Overall I improved and learned a lot after finishing my final draft.

Documentary update!

When I first began working on the documentary project I was a little confused about what to write about. But after we talked about it a couple of times in class I have started to understand the expectations and made some changes in my writing. At first, I didn't understand what the analysis was but now I've gotten a better understanding of it after talking about it in class. I’ve watched the movie again for more clarification on what to write. I was able to take some more notes on the parts of the documentary that I felt I needed more information on. Watching it a second time was good for me I noticed a lot of events and scenes that I didn't the first time. Yet, I do not feel it is fully ready so I believe this week before Thursday I’m going to have to put some more work into my paper. I'm going to use what we went over in class and the notes I took from the movie to revise and make it better. I might have a classmate read it over again since the first time that helped ...

Midterms/Fall Break

Image
This week was midterms I honestly didn’t know what to expect going into them. I did have a midterm in a few of my classes. It was a lot of work preparing for them, but I would say after taking the exams, I feel like they went pretty well. There was a midterm for my philosophy that I was stressed out about but after taking it I felt a lot better about it. I think one of the hardest parts of college is balancing studying and other activities such as hanging out with friends and your sport. It's been an adjustment trying to plan out my days and making sure I can get everything done. The best thing about midterms, is afterward we get to have our fall break. I was able to go visit some friends at Purdue University for a night and go to a Big 10 football game. It was so interesting to come from North Central and then go to a school like Purdue which is so big. It was nice to see my high school friends and catch up with them for the day though. I was then able to come home for the remai...

Life update!

Image
This weekend we had our last NCC golf tournament which was the CCIW conference tournament at Metamora Fields. It was very sad that it was our last fall golf tournament, but it was a really fun way to end a season. Our team broke a few school records which was a really good note to end on. It was a great time spending three days with my team playing golf.  We were able to go out to a couple of dinners together it was some great team bonding. With the tournament being so close to my hometown my coach let me stay at my house instead of the hotel which was nice.  I then stayed for the rest of the weekend and got to be with my family.  After missing so much school, I have a lot of catching up to do on homework. This coming week, I have a couple of big papers and tests due for midterms. I’m a little bit nervous about these assignments, but thankful that fall break is so soon. Over fall break I will be able to see my family and friends over the long weekend. I'm excited to catch...

College update!

Image
College has been going by so fast with this being the eighth week of school. I’ve gotten a lot more used to the college lifestyle and being away from home. At first, I was homesick when I first arrived now I've gotten so much more used to being away. Schoolwork has slowly started to get harder and a lot busier with midterms coming up. One of the things that I enjoy a lot about college is the freedom you have with your schedule it's nice how you aren't in class all day like high school. But I’ve enjoyed being busy and always having something to do.  Golf is coming to a close until spring season with this coming week being our last tournament. It has been really fun to get to hang out with the team and get close to all the girls. I've also enjoyed getting to travel to tournaments since in high school you never traveled as much. But, sadly, it's coming to an end and we won’t have another round till spring. Overall college has been good so far and am looking forward to ...
